Think how much grief time and money you will save by having your layout planned right. Just spend the money on Anyrail if you like it. I've just found fit to screen so now I have the baseboard I'll see what else I can do before getting frustrated again. Apologies if this has been covered before but I don't remember it coming up in the last few years.ĮDIT. What are others opinions on the relative merits of these two pieces of software?

Using zoom out it just starts moving the layout to the right and downwards. I put in the size 5500 by 2700mm but it only shows the top left-hand part. In fact I couldn't get past constructing the base board. I have become so frustrated with it that I don't think I'll try again despite the fact that it is completely free and according to the instructions has advantages with constructing transision curves using flexitrack. Then a couple of hours ago, I tried SCARM. Actually you can easily exceed the 50 limit by as much as you like for free, by selecting "New File" and doing another part of the layout on that, over and over again. I got the hang of it very quickly, and were it not for the 50 piece limit without paying £35 (which I think is expensive for one layout plan) I would have finished it by now. A couple of days ago I started using the free part of Anyrail to plan my revised layout.
